Hilari H. Hanamaikai practices general business litigation, with a particular focus on employment, intellectual property, unfair competition, and insurance coverage disputes. She also has experience with class action, environmental compliance, and white collar criminal defense matters. Ms. Hanamaikai has represented a wide variety of clients, including a major telecommunications company, a large California utility, numerous entertainment companies, and an array of individuals and small companies. Ms. Hanamaikai recently defeated a motion to compel arbitration in a fraud and unfair competition case brought by students against a large private post-secondary education institution. She has handled all pre-trial aspects of major multi-party complex litigation. Prior to joining Doll Amir & Eley, LLP, Ms. Hanamaikai was a career law clerk to the Honorable J. Spencer Letts of the Central District of California. She practiced at the law firms of Troop Meisinger Steuber & Pasich, LLP. Ms. Hanamaikai graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School, where she served as the Articles Editor of the Harvard Environmental Law Review. She received her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of California at Berkeley, with highest honors, and was elected Phi Beta Kappa.
