Stephen Chappelear

Steve Chappelear is the former managing partner of Hahn Loeser's Columbus office. He focuses his practice in the areas of business and complex litigation, construction law, patent and trademark litigation, employment litigation, probate litigation, dispute resolution and appeals. He has over 32 years of experience in more than 50 trials (both jury and non-jury).   Steve was listed in "Best Lawyers in America" in 2004-06 for business litigation, in 2007-11 for commercial litigation, and as an Ohio Super Lawyer, 2004-11 (Top 100 Lawyers in Ohio, 2009). He is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Steve is admitted to practice law in Ohio, before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Steve is a frequent author and speaker on a wide range of legal issues. He is the Immediate Past Chair of the Litigation Section of the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Chair of the Trial Techniques Committee of the Tort Trial and Insurance Section of the American Bar Association. He is a Past President of the Columbus Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, the National Caucus of Metropolitan Bar Associations,  the Franklin Inn of the American Inns of Court, and the Ohio  State Bar Foundation. He serves on the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association, and the Board of Trustees of the National Conference of Bar Foundations.  He is the President-Elect of the National Conference of Bar Foundations and the Secretary of the Ohio State University Mens'  Varsity "O" Alumni Association.
