David Hysinger

Pave & Bogaards

David Hysinger is a senior associate at Pave & Bogaards. He joined the firm in 1999. At his first form, Veneruso & Moncharsh, he specialized in medical malpractice defense and general commercial liability defense. Mr. Hysinger’s current practice focuses on landlord-tenant disputes, habitability, mold claims, wrongful eviction, boundary disputes, breach of contract, and personal injury, having tried numerous cases in those areas over more than 14 years of practicing law. Before entering the practice of law, Mr. Hysinger completed an externship with United States Bankruptcy Judge Arthur Weissbrodt. During that time, Mr. Hysinger drafted two published court opinions involving real estate secured transactions, and post-petition appreciation of real property in bankruptcy. Both decisions led to appellate court opinions from the Ninth Circuit, in which the trial court’s decision was affirmed, establishing precedent in those fields. Mr. Hysinger has been a guest speaker at Boalt Hall Law School, and a moot court judge at the University of San Francisco and Golden Gate University Law schools. He has made risk-management presentations to professional organization’s annual conferences, such as the North American Horseman’s Association and the California College of Podiatric Medicine. Mr. Hysinger is also a speaker for Lormac Continuing Education of landlord/tenant. Mr. Hysinger graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. He graduated third out of 120 philosophy students, receiving honors from the Philosophy Department, and a general academic citation from the College of Letters and Science. In 1991, he received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco, and two years later, a Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in economics. Mr. Hysinger is an avid mountain biker, and also enjoys playing with his two young sons, Jared (age 5 ) and Caleb ( age 4). Mr. Hysinger and his wife, Anna, were married in 1997 and make their home in San Francisco. Pave & Bogaards Pave & Bogaards is a litigation law firm practice formed over eleven years ago by two trial attorneys, Robert M. Pave and Debra F. Bogaards. Mr. Pave was the founding partner of Pave, McCord, Jacobs & Berkus, and represented State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company and State Farm Fire and Casualty Company for more than 20 years. Ms. Bogaards was a trial attorney with Allswang, Smith & Walsh, who also worked for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company and State Farm Fire and Casualty Company. She was just named a Northern California Super Lawyer of 2006. Pave & Bogaards has been designated by the Human Rights Commission of San Francisco as a woman-owned/minority firm in 2004. Ms. Bogaards is the majority shareholder as well as managing partner. The firm of five attorneys practices general civil litigation in all state and federal courts, in the areas of insurance defense, business litigation, construction defect, employment law, fraud (S.I.U.), uninsured and underinsured motorists, real estate, landlord-tenant law, psychological injury, sexual harassment, personal injury, Americans with Disability Act, and general commercial liability. Pave & Bogaards carries the highest rating given by Martindale-Hubbell. Pave & Bogaards is committed to legal excellence, while keeping an eye on cost containment for clients. Attorneys at the firm usually return phone calls from clients within two hours. In addition, the attorneys give their cell phone numbers to claims representatives, who may call them after hours and on weekends. Written reporting follows any guidelines provided by the client. Because Pave & Bogaards prides itself on carefully following such guidelines, a client has recently assigned more of its trial work to the firm. Mercury Insurance became a client five years ago after reading a verdict in Jury Verdicts involving a recent trial by Ms. Bogaards in Sonoma county. Bimbo Bakeries International Inc. and Horace Mann became clients in the past year. The attorneys at Pave & Bogaards perform detailed and thorough investigation of cases. They are accustomed to multi-party litigation, in terms of scheduling depositions, court appearances, motions and the like. Lastly, the firm reasonably evaluates cases early, and attempts to resolve each case short of trial, whenever possible, in the client's best interests. The firm has earned an excellent reputation in the legal community, among judges, special masters, mediators, and others involved in case resolution. Pave and Bogaards enjoys a good relationship with the other members of the bar, because of their history of trial success and reputation for reasonable evaluation. This reputation assists in the resolution of cases in an expeditious manner. http://www.pave-bogaards.com
