Michelle Mallard

With over 18 years of computer security and system auditing experience within the manufacturing, consumer products, financial, transportation, insurance, and healthcare industries, Michelle's management experience includes Data Security Administrator within the one largest integrated healthcare organization (Kaiser Permanente), Deputy Director of Information Security for a 2.3 billion dollar state agency (Ohio Lottery Commission), Experienced Manager at Ernst & Young LLP and Interim Practice Leader at Arthur Andersen LLP. Throughout her IT career, Michelle has been retained as Interim Chief Security Officer in charge of HIPAA compliance for multi-billion dollar health care organization’s architecture and have acted as Project Manager on IT projects ranging from $5,000 to $1.4 million. Additionally, Michelle has held consulting and analyst positions at Environmental Protection Agency, Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Roadway Express. From a information security support perspective, Michelle has acted as primary liaison for information security departments administering user profiles and trouble-shooting security related help desk problems, performed system penetration tests, upgraded system controls, designed disaster recovery plans, redesigned information technology processes on network, midrange and mainframe platforms, developed information technology audit strategies, performed system audits and designed employee record retention, employee termination, remote access and on-line access processes. Lastly, Michelle has served on the national project team to create an information security framework, contributed to the American Bar Association Science and Technology Section’s information security framework policy guidelines publication, developed privacy handbooks, policies and procedures, published security awareness newsletters and performed presentations on privacy, confidentiality and security concerns for new employees and senior management.
