I am a solo practitioner in Seattle, Washington focusing on Estate Planning, Wills, Trusts, Probate and Business & Corporate law. I have always been interested in business and finance and find that a real-world approach to legal problems using my skills in these areas often best serves my clients. I am not a litigator – I do not take a one-side wins all approach to my practice. I prefer to find practical solutions to everyday problems. As the parent of two young children, I believe that drafting a will for the benefit of your family is the least you can do to avoid unnecessary problems and stress in the future.
Please take a look at my blog (www.ryanvelo-simpson.com) for more information about my practice, use of technology and legal guides and updates. My practice is based out of a home office in Magnolia, Seattle. I am able to meet clients at their home, office or another location around Seattle.
Prior to hanging my shingle, I practiced corporate and securities law at Allen & Overy, LLP in London. As part of the U.S. law group at one of the world’s largest and most prestigious law firms, I had the opportunity to work on very complex securities deals on a demanding time schedule. I took pride in my ability to provide excellent work product in a high-stress environment and be able to successfully work with peers and clients.
My previous professional experience was in financial services as a stockbroker and investment specialist in the Seattle area. My ability to quickly understand financial matters and assist individuals in meeting their goals is very valuable to me as a solo transactional attorney.
I earned my J.D. from New York University with an emphasis on business and securities law. NYU has consistently been ranked as a Top 5 Law School in the United States. While at NYU, I took several MBA level business classes from the Stern School of Business and participated in the NYU Mediation Organization working as a mediator in the New York City Small Claims Court. My undergraduate degree was in finance from the University of Washington.
I am licensed to practice law in Washington State and I am a member of the Washington State Bar Association, including the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section and Business Law Section.
I am proud to call Magnolia my home and enjoy travelling with my family, playing soccer and tennis and homebrewing.
