Mr. Lanza is a member of Saul Ewing's Utility Practice Group and an associate in Saul Ewing's Business Department. Mr. Lanza’s areas of concentration include electricity, natural gas, telecommunications, transportation, water and wastewater. Mr. Lanza has advised and represented clients in obtaining licenses, permits, and certificates of public convenience; securing certificates of abandonment; defending formal complaints; preparing and litigating rate cases; and appealing adverse decisions to the Pennsylvania and Federal appeals courts. Mr. Lanza has also represented public utility clients in general commercial litigation before Pennsylvania and Federal courts. Prior to joining Saul Ewing, Mr. Lanza was an associate with LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, LLP in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where he advised and represented national and international clients on Pennsylvania utility and regulatory matters. He also served as an Assistant Consumer Advocate with the Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate where he represented residential utility ratepayers before the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, state and federal courts. As an assistant consumer advocate, Mr. Lanza participated in a number of rate cases, generic administrative proceedings, rulemakings and appeals to Pennsylvania and federal courts. Mr. Lanza is a member of the Pennsylvania Corporations Bureau Advisory Committee, which provides counsel to the Secretary of the Commonwealth, the Governor, and the General Assembly on issues affecting the Bureau. He also is a member of the Dauphin County, Pennsylvania and Hispanic National Bar Associations. He is fluent in Spanish.
