Terry Ahearn

Terry W. Ahearn is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Silicon Valley office.  He focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and other complex commercial litigation related to high technology.  

Terry represents clients in a variety of high-tech industries, including semiconductor, telecommunications, optical networking and electronic gaming. Terry has successfully represented clients in state and federal courts, before the International Trade Commission and in arbitration and mediation proceedings. 

Terry is a member of the Firm’s Electronic Searchable Information (“ESI”) Practice Group.   He is a former member of the EDRM Standards Setting Committee on Electronic Discovery.  He is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. 

While in law school Terry was an articles editor with the Santa Clara Law Review.   He also authored an article entitled “Dilution By Blurring Under the Federal Trademark Dilution Act of 1995: What Is It? and How Is It Shown?‚” 41 Santa Clara Law Review, 893 (2001).  Terry is a regular contributor to the Firm’s monthly publication, IP Update.
