Natalie Zammitti Shaw
Injury Lawyers of NJ
Natalie A. Zammitti Shaw is a co-founder and one of the Managing Partners of the firm. A native of North Jersey, Natalie has practiced law as a personal injury attorney throughout the State of New Jersey for more than 25 years. She is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney, one of the youngest women to achieve this certification, an achievement earned by only about 2.2% of all active attorneys in New Jersey, and currently held by approximately only 30 women.
Natalie has an extraordinary record of success in her practice and the courtroom, which she attributes to relentless preparation and hard work. Her expertise, skills, knowledge, and understanding of personal injury law are unparalleled.
Natalie is a true Jersey Girl, born and raised. She grew up in a middle-class household in Paramus, where her mother was a middle school teacher of computers in Fair Lawn, and her father was a car salesman. She is the oldest of four, with a younger sister who is also an attorney and two younger brothers. Her parents instilled education in each of them.
Growing up, Natalie watched her mother excel in her profession, while she raised four kids. Her mother obtained her master’s degree plus 30 in education. Watching her mother succeed made Natalie want to be better and do better.
While Natalie initially was on the path to become a newscaster, it was her mother who suggested that law was the right avenue for her. Natalie initially thought that entertainment law was the right specialty for her, but she soon realized through her service to her community as a Councilwoman in Paramus that helping others was the way she wanted to live her life. She attributes her success to that desire.
Natalie set her focus on litigation and trial practice immediately after graduation from law school. In 1998, she had the distinct privilege to appear before the Dutch Court in St. Martin, a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, regarding hurricane-damaged property in the Netherlands Antilles. In 1999, she was afforded the opportunity to second chair a trial for an election contest for the Alpine Mayoral election.
During the ensuing decades, Natalie has tried dozens of cases and obtained millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for her clients. In representing thousands of clients and fighting tirelessly for the victims of personal injury accidents, her cases have involved truck accidents, wrongful death, catastrophic injuries, dram shop laws (relating to liability of bar owners and alcohol retailers), motorcycle accidents, Uber / Lyft cases, automobile negligence, premises liability, construction defects, medical malpractice, dog bites, fire losses, products liability, and employment discrimination.
Natalie’s advocacy skill in negotiation and trial is one of her greatest strengths. When she negotiates a settlement or tries a case in the courtroom, she is willing to take risks and push boundaries to achieve clients’ goals in obtaining maximum justice. Natalie thinks outside the box by researching cases intensely to develop creative legal theories and strategies that can alter the landscape of a case. She is an innovative legal professional who challenges traditional norms and approaches in the legal field. This sets her apart from her peers in the legal community.
