Christopher Frey

Christopher G. Frey, Esq., originally from Richmond Hill, Queens, N.Y., relocated to Clearwater, FL, and graduated from Clearwater Central Catholic High School. Since May 1978, he has been a resident of the Tampa Bay area, primarily in Hillsborough County, but practices law statewide, covering Pinellas, Pasco, Seminole, Orange, and Manatee Counties. Chris, a father of four (three daughters and a son), is deeply engaged in community activities, serving on School Advisory Councils and coaching football and soccer teams. He is actively involved in professional organizations such as the Florida, Hillsborough, and Federal Bar Associations and serves as a former vice president of the Hernando County Bar Association.

In addition to his legal practice, Chris contributes extensively to charitable causes, including Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Habitat for Humanity, and Rotary Club. He has provided legal counsel for organizations such as the United School Employees of Pasco union and is a certified attorney for the State of Florida Fraternal Order of Police, handling cases involving law enforcement officers. Chris has also served as a Critical Response Attorney for the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA).

Chris's legal career began with internships at the Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office and Holland & Knight. He clerked for George Rahdert, Esq., and the St. Petersburg Times during his time at Stetson College of Law. Notable cases he was involved in include School Board of Nassau County, Florida v. Arline, and The Florida Star v. B.J.F., both reaching the United States Supreme Court. His extensive trial experience includes over 250 jury trials to verdict.

Currently practicing at Frey Law, P.A. in Tampa, Chris previously served as a lead trial attorney at Carlson, Meissner, Hart & Hayslett, P.A., handling criminal defense matters. His legal expertise spans Bankruptcy, Foreclosure Defense, Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Personal Injury cases. Additionally, Chris has provided media consultation on Florida's Stand Your Ground defense law and assisted in teaching trial advocacy at the Stetson College of Law.
