Mr. Joun is also active in the community. He serves on the Board of the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts (ACLU-M). He has also served on the Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts Law Reform Institute and the Board of Directors of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights of the Boston Bar Association. He volunteers his time and expertise at the National Lawyer's Guild's "Stop and Search" clinics at various community training centers, DYS facilities, shelters, and temporary homes. He is frequently asked to lecture on topics relating to criminal justice, civil rights and civil liberties. He has been a speaker at many local law schools including Boston University, Harvard University, Northeastern University, Suffolk University, and Western New England College.
