David Ferrance

Ferrance Law, P.C.

David is a software developer, entrepreneur, and attorney. Before becoming a lawyer, he spent almost fifteen years founding and operating technology startups. He remains active as an entrepreneur as the co-owner of disruptive legal systems, llc.

In 2010, David graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Mexico School of Law, where he achieved clinical honors for excellence in the practice of law and served as Managing Editor of the New Mexico Law Review. He is admitted in State of New Mexico and at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

After graduation, David spent two years clerking for the Honorable Michael D. Bustamante at the New Mexico Court of Appeals, where he assisted with civil and criminal cases on a wide range of New Mexico state law topics. He then moved to Washington, D.C., where he clerked for the Honorable Jimmie V. Reyna at the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, which is most widely known for having exclusive jurisdiction over appeals in patent cases.

David returned to New Mexico to raise his family in the high desert and to do as much trail running as possible. He began his practice as an associate at a 250-lawyer regional law firm representing large, out-of-state companies in intellectual property matters and civil litigation, but quickly realized that this was not what he wanted to accomplish as a lawyer. David then started Ferrance Law, P.C. with hopes of helping improving New Mexico by participating in the startup community in Albuquerque.
