Chorey, Taylor & Feil

Lisa F. Harper, a native of Atlanta, received her law degree, with honors, from Georgia State University in 1991. At GSU, Lisa was an associate editor and special staff to the managing editor of the Georgia State Law Review, and received American Jurisprudence Awards in litigation and Corporations II. She received GSU College of Law academic scholarships from 1988-1991. Although Lisa represents our clients in other types of business litigation and dispute resolution, her practice has primarily focused and she has particular expertise in the creditor rights, banking, commercial leasing, solid waste and employment areas. Lisa represents our clients in secured and unsecured creditor rights matters from the contract or credit documentation stage to enforcement of our clients' rights through the litigation and/or bankruptcy stage when required. Lisa also represents our banking and financial institution clients in loan documentation review services, workouts of distressed loans, collateral recovery, and enforcement of security interests and contract rights through litigation and/or bankruptcy. Lisa also represents clients in commercial leasing matters, including lease drafting, review, negotiation and enforcement. Lisa assists solid waste industry clients with legal issues involved in the development, permitting, and operation of solid waste facilities and transportation. She also represents our solid waste industry clients in the resolution or litigation of disputes, including disputes with state, county or municipal bodies. Lisa further represents companies in employment matters, with particular emphasis in the prevention and resolution of employee disputes and claims. Lisa's employment practice includes employer representation in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings and in alternative dispute resolution forums, including mediation and arbitration. Lisa obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (magna cum laude) with a major in Real Estate and a minor in Finance from the University of Georgia Honors Program in 1979, having previously attended Georgia Institute of Technology during her last year of high school. While at UGA, she was named to honor societies including Omicron Delta Kappa, Blue Key, Mortar Board, Rho Lambda, and Alpha Lambda Delta. She was awarded UGA Real Estate Department academic scholarships, as well as Delta Delta Delta academic scholarships. Prior to attending law school, Lisa held management positions with corporations and financial institutions. Lisa's pre-legal experience not only provides her with a wealth of practical knowledge that she uses in her legal practice, but also allows her to see legal matters from a client's perspective and a business perspective.
