Ali Shaikh obtained his LL.B (Hon’s) from University of Buckingham, UK and thereafter completed his Bar from BPP Law School, London. During the same year he joined the Honourable Society of Inner Temple London. Later he obtained his LL.M (Masters in Law & Development) from University of Warwick.
During the Course of his study he undertook several extensive research undertakings on sensitive social issues such as Muslim Women in Islam, Child Soldiers, Right to Food etc. Being inspired by his father (Late) Mumtaz Shaikh, advocate of Supreme Court in Pakistan, Ali Shaikh decided to practice in his own country and hence he returned to Pakistan in the year 2000.
Upon his arrival he was offered to lecture law at the University of Karachi, S.M Law College on subjects of Law of Torts, Contract, Trust, International Law, Banking & Finance and Shipping – Maritime Law. He also taught University of London External Program LL.B students on subjects of Law of Torts and Land Law at SZABIST University Law School. Soon thereafter he was offered a place to study at University of Oxford, New College, in the field of IHRL (International Human Rights Law).
At University of Oxford he was trained to appear and draft pleadings before the International Court of Human Rights and International War Crimes Tribunal.
