Mr. Sleight’s practice emphasizes construction and real estate matters. Over the past several years, he has drafted and negotiated construction contracts for owners and contractors for projects well in excess of $1 billion in combined value. He has participated in development and negotiation of “lean” contracting methods, including three party integrated agreements joining the owner, architect and contractor under a single agreement and utilizing joint ventures to facilitate WSST and B&O tax exemptions. Mr. Sleight has litigated construction disputes in state courts, Federal District Court for the Western and Eastern Districts of Washington, and the United States Court of Federal Claims. He has participated extensively in creative and effective methods of dispute resolution. Mr. Sleight has also drafted and consulted on bid protests. Mr. Sleight is a founding member of the Firm and was named an “Amazing” construction lawyer in the March 2006 edition of Washington CEO magazine. From 2004 through 2008, Mr. Sleight has been named a “Rising Star” by Washington Law & Politics magazine.
