Mr. Backman focuses his practice on complex class action defense and general commercial litigation. He has defended clients in federal courts throughout the country, and is at the forefront of the legal landscape involving the telemarketing industry.
He also advises clients in legal compliance matters and defends clients before all regulatory bodies such as the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Communication Commission, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and States Attorneys General.
Mr. Backman was recently appointed to the Southeast Chapter Board of Directors of the Professional Association for Customer Engagement (PACE), the only non-profit trade organization dedicated exclusively to the advancement of companies that use a multi-channel approach to engaging their customers.
He has spoken on TCPA compliance and litigation trends at the PACE Washington Summit in 2015, and at its 2016 National Convention & Expo. PACE also selected Mr. Backman as one of its “Speaking Partners,” scheduling him to speak at various events held by PACE throughout the year. Our firm is also actively involved with the American Legal & Financial Network (ALFN).
