Maria Cheung

Pulvers, Pulvers, Thompson & Friedman LLP.

Maria Cheung was born and raised in New York City and understands the complexities of New York real estate law, whether it is transactional or litigation related. Her love for real estate dates back to high school, in which she attended Stuyvesant High School in Tribeca and met classmates from every different neighborhood of New York. Maria’s fascination and interest in the uniqueness of each of her friends’ neighborhoods led her to gain invaluable knowledge about New York real estate, which allows her to truly aid clients in obtaining exactly what they want.

After Stuyvesant, Maria graduated cum laude from The George Washington University’s Honors Program in Washington, D.C.,  where she studied International Affairs, Journalism and Spanish Literature and Language. Maria then went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate from New York Law School, where she graduated cum laude. At New York Law School, Maria was a member of the Harlan Scholars Program and a Features Editor of the New York Law School Law Review. Her second year case comment, “In re Application of Chevron Corp.,” was selected for publication in Volume 56 of the New York Law School Law Review. During law school, Maria also interned for the New York State Attorney General’s office in the Litigation Bureau, the Arther Law Firm, the New York State Public Service Commission and Tazora Films. After law school, Maria worked as a real estate agent at Elegran Real Estate and Development, where she developed strong negotiation skills and knowledge of the business aspects behind real estate law. Afterwards, Maria went on to work as an Associate at a small law firm in downtown Manhattan, where she represented various banks, purchasers and sellers on numerous real estate transactions before joining Pulvers, Pulvers, Thompson & Friedman, LLP.
