Rosemarie Bogdan
Martin, Harding & Mazzotti, LLP
After growing up in Brockport, New York, Rosemarie went to Cornell University. She enrolled as a science major taking the required pre-med course work. "I planned to work in the medical field, but I changed my mind and decided to attend law school," she says. "I have always wanted to work for people and help them, which is why I think I have interests in both law and medicine. I consider myself lucky because I get to practice law and also learn about medicine here at Martin, Harding & Mazzotti."
Rosemarie graduated from Cornell in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree. "I was fortunate enough to complete my bachelor's degree course work in three years, and decided to continue my education by obtaining a law degree before entering the work force."
Rosemarie graduated from Albany Law School in 1992. While in law school, Rosemarie developed a passion for trial work through the Moot Court program. She represented the school in national competitions winning a Best Oral Advocate award. In 1993, Rosemarie joined the law firm of Roemer & Featherstonhaugh, as an associate in the litigation department. When Victor Mazzotti left Roemer & Featherstonhaugh in 1994 to form the new firm of Martin, Harding, & Mazzotti, LLPĀ®, he invited Rosemarie to join the firm as a litigation associate. In 2000, Rosemarie became a partner of the firm.
Rosemarie is asked to speak frequently at Continuing Legal Education seminars on subjects such as the New York State Scaffold Law and various aspects of personal injury litigation. Rosemarie is the past President of the Capital District Trial Lawyers Association (CDTLA), a not-for-profit corporation with the primary purpose to encourage frequent consultation among its members to promote the profession and to seek to alleviate difficulties that the members may encounter in the course of their practice.
Since her son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, Rosemarie has been actively involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), the leading private funder of Type 1 diabetes research.
