David Ogwyn

Ogwyn Law Firm was founded in 2009 by David H. Ogwyn, who previously was a partner at Ellison, Ellison & Ogwyn. The opportunity to learn from and work with David M. Ellison, Jr. for nine years provided invaluable experience and perspective, which, coupled with David Ogwyn’s educational background, give a basis for stellar representation of individuals and businesses. 

David Ogwyn and his staff strive to provide individuals and small businesses with the quality, service, and individual attention that are the hallmarks of personal family attorneys and in-house counsel. Prompt and personal communication with each client is one of the main priorities of our firm.

David is active in the legal, business, and educational community. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, Baton Rouge Bar Association, and the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy. He serves on the Volunteer Committee of the Baton Rouge Bar Association and is a participant in the Solo/Small Firm Group of the American Bar Association. David has additionally been appointed by the Louisiana Supreme Court to serve on occasion as Judge Pro Tem for the Port Allen City Court.

In the business community, David has been on the Board of Directors for the West Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce since 2008. He has served as Secretary/Treasurer and is currently the Chairman-elect of the Board. In that capacity, he works with business and political leaders to promote the economic development of the region while at the same time preserving the quality of life of the Parish.

David volunteers in the local public schools' reading programs. Additionally, David serves on the Board of Directors for the West Baton Rouge Foundation for Academic Excellence, which provides grants to local teachers in the public school system to enhance the learning opportunities and experience of the students.

David takes great pride in the relationships that he builds and maintains with his clients, working to serve as their personal attorney and protect their interests in a variety of legal matters involving business representation and litigation, real estate and oil & gas agreements, and estate planning needs.
