A former U.S. Marine that served in west Pacific, I graduated with an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Lincoln Land Community College, a Bachelor's Degree in Communication from U of I-Springfield, and a Juris Doctor Degree from NIU College of Law.  Memberships include the  Illinois State Bar Association,  Sangamon County Bar Association & Marine Corps League. 

From lacerated fingers to fatalities and everything in between, I have represented injured worker's throughout Illinois for the last twenty years in all aspcects of Workers' Compensation claims incluidng negotiations, settlement, trials and appeals. I believe that injured employes need protected and compensated for their losses.

I really enjoy all types of adoptions and it's the most rewarding part of my practice.  As a panel Attorney for the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services, I provide legal services for Adoptions and Guardianships in several counties throughout the Central Region of Illinois.  

Providing Probate, Trust and Estate planning services is a significant part of my practice.  I have extensive experience in preparing Wills and Trusts from the simple to the complex,  and in probating estates either with or without Wills.  This area of law is especially challenging because of the complexity and variety of situations involved.

Being a Formal Hearing Officer with the Department of Administrative Hearings with the Secretary of State for the past 11 years is challenging and I take seriously the responsibility of hearing cases and making decisions that effect public safety.

I am married with two daughters and five grandchildren and I stay busy with my "other life" responsibilities including tackling the never ending duties and challenges on my farm.
