Jeffrey C. Melick is a seasoned litigator with more than 25 years of experience in the practice of law. His area of concentration covers all aspects of domestic relations litigation including divorce, custody, modification, child support, paternity, and guardianship matters. He also handles appeals in all courts.
He formerly was a member of the Boston law firm, Melick, Porter & Shea, LLP, a litigation firm handling complex civil litigation. Later, he worked for a nationwide telecommunications company handling business litigation and transactions before joining Kates & Barlow. Mr. Melick’s reputation for excellence has been built on his extensive trial and appellate experience in the state and federal courts.
A prolific writer, he has published many law review articles and has authored chapters for the MCLE Courtroom Advocacy Manual, MCLE Basic Practice Manual, MCLE Residential and Commercial Tenant Practice in Massachusetts Manual, and MCLE Massachusetts Tort Law Manual, for which he also serves as editor. He is a frequent lecturer for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc. (MCLE), and other bar organizations, teaching trial advocacy, mediation and other legal subjects to practicing attorneys.
