Andrew Piekalkiewicz

Law Office of Andrew Piekalkiewicz

Andrew “Pike” Piekalkiewicz is a trial lawyer in private practice and a combat veteran. He graduated from the University of Texas School of Law and became a member of the State Bar of Texas in 1993. He is a veteran of the Afghanistan War, a certified Green Beret, and active in the National Guard.

Throughout his years of practicing law, he has aggressively fought for the rights of injured people, business owners involved in various disputes, and those accused of serious crimes. He has tried numerous car wreck cases, personal injury, general civil and serious criminal cases as sole counsel to juries in state and federal court. He has owned and managed a high volume practice in Houston, Texas.

In 2005, Mr. Piekalkiewicz moved his family to Lawrence, Kansas and practiced law there and in Kansas City. While in Kansas, lawyer Andrew Piekalkiewicz joined the National Guard, having previously served in the Army thirteen years prior. He served in the 20th Special Forces in Mississippi. In 2009, “Pike” desired to fight for his country so he volunteered for a combat deployment in Afghanistan. While in Afghanistan, he was the “Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge” of a National Guard Police Mentor Team fighting against the Taliban in the volatile region of Kapisa Province.  When combat operations were suspended in that region, “Pike” was transferred to Nangahar to bar the Taliban from that region.

It was through his early years in the military that Andrew learned that his Polish name would be mis-spelled and mis-pronounced in many different ways. He has seen it spelled in umpteen different ways such as: Pickalkiewicz, Piekalkiewiez, Piekalkievitch, Pikelhevitch, and Pikecevitch. The pronunciations were even more convoluted. So he began going by the nickname of “Pike” and has been known as “Sergeant Pike” for many years. “Sergeant Pike” is also a certified Green Beret, having earned the coveted Special Forces qualification badge in 1987. He received several decorations for his service in Afghanistan and is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Lone Star Veterans Association, and the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans Association.

Prior to deploying to Afghanistan, Attorney Andrew Piekalkiewicz practiced law in Lawrence and Kansas City, Kansas representing clients in serious felony cases and injured people involved in serious car wrecks. While practicing in Kansas, he also represented the medium size city of El Dorado as the municipal civil city attorney. In that role he provided legal advice and consultation to the city manager, finance director and city commission members as well as representing the city in contract negotiations with various government and private entities. He was litigation counsel for the city in state court.  Abogado Piekalkiewicz also represented Missouri clients.

After returning from active duty, Lawyer Andrew Piekalkiewicz decided to move back to Houston to practice law. He is a personal injury trial lawyer representing people suffering serious personal injuries from car accidents, truck accidents, product liability defects, railroad crossing accidents, workers compensation, Jones Act maritime injuries and other types of accidents. He also a litigation lawyer representing business owners in various types of litigation and select people charged with serious crimes. In one such criminal case, a complaining witness was gunned down on the eve of trial.

Lawyer Piekalkiewicz is licensed by the Texas Supreme Court to practice in all state courts. He has also appeared in Federal Court and has been before the Texas Board of Disciplinary Appeals. His commitment to fighting for the rights of his clients is unparalleled. Although many lawyers claim they are “fighters”, “warriors”, and even “hammers” few can back it up with the real life experience of Mr. Piekalkiewicz.
