Ms. Mitchell-Blackwell is a member of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (and past president of its Foundation), serves on the Georgia Committee of the National Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under the Law, serves on the Nonprofit Organizations and Government Affairs Committees of the American Bar Association, is a member of the American Association of Attorney CPA’s, and a Guardian ad Litem with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.
Ms. Mitchell-Blackwell is the President of the Jewell Jackson McCabe Emerging Leaders Institute, Inc., a non-profit organization that develops global leaders for the 21st century; and a member of the Junior League of Cobb-Marietta. She is a 2010 graduate of Georgia Go Run, a leadership program sponsored by The White House Project, Inc. She is also a featured political columnist with My Magazine for Girls. Ms. Mitchell-Blackwell has served as chairwoman of the Environmental Justice League, president of the Stone Mountain-Lithonia Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., and treasurer of the Metro Atlanta Florida A&M University Alumni Association.
