E. Brian Davis

Davis Law Office

Mr. Davis grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. He did his undergraduate work at Indiana University and received his legal training at Duke University's School of Law, from which he graduated in 1982. After clerking for a judge on Kentucky's Court of Appeals, serving as a state prosecutor in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, serving as a federal prosecutor for the Western District of Kentucky, and working for private law firms, attorney E. Brian Davis established the Davis Law Office in 1996. His time as a prosecutor was spent handling all types of federal crimes including white collar crimes and serving as Senior Litigation Counsel. That experience provides him with insight as to how prosecutors establish and try cases, along with a thorough knowledge of federal sentencing guidelines. That experience has helped his clients in the negotiation of charges and sentences, and, if necessary, in trying your case to a jury. While in private law practice, Mr. Davis has represented both creditors and debtors in bankruptcy cases, working at first under the guidance of some of the top bankruptcy lawyers in the state, and later, when he had gained their confidence, handling such matters on his own. Since the establishment of the Davis Law Office, Mr. Davis has filed bankruptcy petitions under Chapters 7, 11, and 13, as well as defending and prosecuting 'adversary proceedings.' (Adversary Proceedings are separate lawsuits within a bankruptcy case, often an attempt by a creditor to deny the discharge of a debt). One of the most enjoyable moments of Mr. Davis's legal career occurred when he appeared (briefly) in the United States Supreme Court. While his role was only ceremonial, he did get to address the Court and have his 'motion' granted. Best of all, his older son was present for the occasion.
