OUR FIRM Cahill Law Office is a civil litigation firm. The firm, founded in 1981, began as an endeavor on the part of James D. Cahill (1924-1994) to create a law firm which would specialize in in civil litigation and employ a group of attorneys and shared commitment to excellence and dedication to providing quality civil litigation legal services. Today, as in 1981, our philosophy is that no longer can a lawyer be all things to all people and do it well. Thus we have, from the beginning, practiced primarily in the area of civil litigation. Our experience in the preparation and trial of a wide variety of matters justify our reputation as a premier litigation firm in Minnesota and North Dakota. MY EXPERIENCE Scott M. Strand was born and raised in North Dakota. He graduated from the University of North Dakota, Magna Cum Laude, in 2000 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Honors. Scott began his law school career at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, CA. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2003. Scott is actively involved with several legal associations. He is currently the president of the Young Lawyers Section of the North Dakota State Bar Association. Scott also serves as the District Representative for the American Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division for the districts of North Dakota and South Dakota. In this capacity, he recently worked with FEMA and the South Dakota State Bar to establish an emergency legal services hotline to assist those affected by the recent flooding in South Dakota. Scott is also the treasurer of the North Dakota Defense Lawyers Association and an active member of the Defense Research Institute. Scott's practice is currently focused in the areas of personal injury, insurance defense, premises liability, products liability, construction litigation, torts, arbitration and medication. Scott and his wife Laura reside in Fargo. He enjoys film, music and spending time with friends and family.
