Vaughn Neubauer
Vaughn H. Neubauer
I'm a founding partner of Neubauer, Pelkey, & Goldfinger, a defense firm which opened its doors in 2013. However, I've been in practice for over 22 yrs.
Most of my previous experience prior to entering private practice comes from my time working as a public defender. I have extensive experience as a criminal defense attorney and have tried hundreds of cases before a jury. Nine of which were high-profile homicides. I'm one of the few Wyoming lawyers who's qualified to serve as lead defense counsel in death penalty cases. I've successfully kept two people off of Wyoming’s death row.
I've defended the accused on a full spectrum of both misdemeanor and felony charges which include; felony drug, DUI, murder, accessory to murder, aggravated assault, sexual assault, strangulation, conspiracy to commit mutilation of a body as well as weapons charges and many, many more.
My years of experience going toe-to-toe with a litany of prosecutors have enabled me to hone my skills and fine tune my approach to criminal defense. I like to think of it as an art as the skillsets that a stellar attorney possesses are not something that can solely be learned from a book. Rather, they are often picked up intuitively over time.
Before becoming an attorney I was an Army Paratrooper in the 1980's. I returned to Wyoming and obtained a BA in history in 1994 through the University of Wyoming. Later, earning my Doctorate in Law in 2000.
I have studied the Holocaust extensively as well as other large-scale human rights atrocities. Because of this, I hold a certain reverence for the past and its implications on today's democracy and civil liberties.
I take my duty as a criminal defense attorney very seriously. I am deeply committed to preserving the freedom and rights of my clients.
