Mr. Bostwick serves as a Partner to the Firm and focuses his practice on Wealth Transfer, Philanthropy Planning, Income Tax Planning, and Trusts and Estates. His experience includes all facets of wealth and philanthropy planning, specifically pertaining to areas of charitable split interest trusts, private foundations and supporting organizations. Mr. Bostwick has assisted numerous affluent families, entrepreneurs and family offices seamlessly integrate both their charitable and wealth transfer planning goals, and design, analyze and implement complex income tax and estate tax planning strategies. Currently, Mr. Bostwick serves as President and CEO of Factor Health Management, LLC, in Boca Raton, Florida, a disease management and specialty pharmacy company that provides comprehensive pharmacy services, support and education to individuals living with chronic diseases.
Mr. Bostwick was chosen to represent our firm at the Family Wealth Alliance’s 40 minus Leadership Summit on March 4-5, 2009, in Boston, Massachusetts, hosted by State Street Corporation. This event represents a family office/family wealth industry first, acknowledging the significant contributions made by professionals 40 years of age or under from a select number of firms that represent a 360-degree view of this robust space.
In December 2005, Mr. Bostwick was named by Worth Magazine as “One of the Top 100 Attorneys in the United States” serving affluent families and family offices. Prior to joining Handler Thayer, LLP, Mr. Bostwick was a Partner in the Wealth Planning & Philanthropy Group of Gardner, Carton, & Douglas, LLP in Chicago, Illinois. During his tenure, he focused primarily on wealth planning for high net worth individuals, with a special emphasis on advising clients on creating tax-efficient and philanthropy-focused estate plans. His experience includes tax litigation, valuation and accounting analysis, and serving as the Director of Wealth Planning Design for a nationwide financial planning company.
Mr. Bostwick earned his Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs Degree at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., his Juris Doctorate Degree from Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington, and his Masters of Law in Taxation from The University of Washington School of Law in Seattle, Washington.
Mr. Bostwick is a member of the American, Chicago and Illinois State Bar Associations, and was named the Vice Chair of the Exempt Organization Sections of the American Bar Association Real Property Probate and Trust Law Charitable Planning and Exemption Organizations Group. Mr. Bostwick is a nationally prominent speaker and author who was named in Marquis Who's Who in America for 2008, as well as in The Best Lawyersin America® for 2010.
