Kevin Piwowarski Shields

Kevin Shields is a family law attorney who represents children and families in special needs matters throughout Texas. Kevin has unique insight into the world of special education, as he is both an attorney and a general education teacher.

As a general education teacher, Kevin fought for increased inclusion time for his kids receiving services; at staff meetings, he called out providers who missed sessions with his kids and was usually the dissenting voice at the IEP table. It was during this time that Kevin started to think that law school might make more sense for him.

After practicing family law with one of the country's largest law firms for several years, Kevin founded Shields Law Firm to focus exclusively on representing children and families in special needs matters.
