Amy Demma, a New York State licensed attorney, is a long-term family and children's advocate beginning her legal career advising parents of mentally and disabled children at the Association for the Help of Retarded Children. She has served on the Mother and Child's HIV Task Force of the Brooklyn Women's Bar Association and is credentialed in Family Mediation through the Harvard Law School Mediation Program.
Passionately committed to family advocacy, Amy is a proud affiliate of RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, holding a past Board position as Education Chairperson for RESOLVE, New York City and has served on the Advocacy and Legislative Committee for RESOLVE of the Bay State. As a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, she sits on the Legal Practitioners Group of ASRM, as well as the Women's Council. She is on the By-Laws Committee of the New England Fertility Society and is a founding member of the Reproductive Law Committee of the American Bar Association as well as a regular contributor to the American Fertility Association.
Considered an industry expert in third-party reproduction, Amy is a published author and regular speaker on topics related to alternative family building, including as a guest lecturer on the topic at Tufts University. She has been quoted in The Chicago Tribune, The Boston Herald, The Boston Globe, The Jewish Advocate, The Dallas Morning News and was also interviewed by NPR, Vanity Fair magazine and CNN. In 2007, Amy contributed to a documentary on family-building through egg donation and surrogacy scheduled to air on LifeTime Television.
Based on the pillars of Collaboration, Commitment and Success, Prospective Families was founded in 2006 by Amy, as an agency whose practices and policies are driven by the standards for ethical donation established by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the Federal Drug Administration for donor screening.
Amy has met with and counseled hundreds of donors and advised and addressed as many prospective parents both across the US and internationally. In 2008, Amy celebrated with her clients, the births of 51 babies. Since launching Prospective Families in 2006, over 77% of Prospective Families’ clients have achieved family building success.
Most importantly, Amy is the proud and blessed mother of 14 year-old twins conceived through In Vitro Fertilization. Amy is highly regarded and well respected by her peers, colleagues, clients and donors and it is from these many good folks that she became inspired to create Prospective Families.
This compliance bundle provides access to online video and audio courses which, when completed, will satisfy the entire 15 hour and 3 hour ethics CLE requirement for Texas. These courses have been approved by the State Bar of Texas for full CLE credit.
