Argos Engineering provides litigation consulting services in products and premises liability, and patent infringement cases. Services include inspections, reports and testimony. Recent cases for which Dr. Pratt has provided services include helicopter accidents, airplane hanger anchorage loss, injuries from windblown objects (chair, hanger door, barrier arm), airplane hard landing,  orthopedic walker collapse, defective knife sheaths, glass panel delivery vehicle, lunch truck accident, building ladder hatch accident, hurricane abatement screen patent infringement, and electric strike patent infringement. Dr. Pratt also consults for a major aerospace fastener supplier in the area of new product development.

Argos' principal, Dr. John D. Pratt, has extensive experience with fasteners, latches and mechanisms, including manufacturing processes, standardization and performance. Dr. Pratt has also developed sophisticated analytical tools to analyze the influence of explosive decompression on aircraft interiors and structures. While in Industry Dr. Pratt co-invented and led the development of the secure cockpit door decompression panel latches used on half the world's flet of commercial transport aircraft.

As an aerospace industry executive in 2005, Dr. Pratt co-invented and led the development of the post-9/11 secure (terrorist-proof) cockpit door decompression latches now installed on half the world's fleet of commercial transport aircraft. Among Dr. Pratt's 32 United States patents is the Composi-Lok line of blind bolts--after 25 years still the leading blind fastener for assembly of laminated composite airframe structure.
