In my last semester of law school I completed an externship-for-credit clerking for the Honorable Judge William Macauley at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. During my fourteen-week tenure at the EEOC, Judge Macauley assigned me numerous case files for which my job was to read through, analyze, and complete the proper judicial action. Throughout that time I became increasingly efficient at analyzing issues and independently solving problems. My experience at the EEOC has given me real world legal experience and allowed me to build upon the knowledge I gained in law school.
Throughout my life, I have been interested in law and business. During college and through law school, I owned and operated a small web-based business. It allowed me to learn the dynamics of running a small business, as well as, how to work independently and efficiently. Operating a small business has refined my skills in communicating with my day-to-day customers and with the corporate executives of one of the nation’s largest lighting companies. As a small business owner in law school, I not only understand the practice of law but the business of practicing law.
My main goal right now is to find a firm that will take advantage of my unique background and give me the opportunity to grow my legal skills.
