Susan Dignan

Susan Dignan, a native of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, has been practicing in the Atlanta area since 1993. Susan specializes in corporate and health care law, and has extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Emory University, and her law degree from the Emory University School of Law in 1993, graduating with the highest honors and receiving the Order of the Coif. That same year, she also was awarded the Georgia Tax Conference Award for the highest achievement in her tax courses. She interned with Professor William Carney while at Emory University School of Law, and assisted him in the revision of the Georgia Corporate Code. Susan has many years of prior experience in large Atlanta law firms, and as general counsel for a publicly traded Atlanta health care company specializing in pediatric care. She also worked on the mergers and acquisitions development team of another publicly traded health care company that provides services to physically and mentally disabled persons. Susan has been lead counsel for many acquisitions, both large and small. She has experience in all phases of mergers and acquisitions, from initial due diligence to integration of acquisitions. Susan has represented hospitals, physicians, physician groups, durable medical equipment companies, group homes, home health care and home care companies, home infusion companies, pharmacies and many non-health care related clients. Because of her varied background, Susan also has wide experience in health care licensing, Medicaid and Medicare laws, fraud investigations, billing, managed care contracting, general business contracting, stock option plans, non-qualified compensation plans, employment law, non-competition agreements, compliance, HIPAA, and many other phases of a health care or other business.
