Mary Glarum

Doll Amir & Eley LLP

Mary Tesh Glarum practices general business litigation, with a particular focus on intellectual property and employment law. Ms. Glarum represents clients in a wide variety of intellectual property matters, including trademark registration, protection and defense. She has handed numerous cases before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Ms. Glarum also has represented clients in bringing claims under the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act. Recently, she obtained a permanent injunction on behalf of a major software distribution company against a cybersquatter who had set up a website designed to “phish” the company’s website. Ms. Glarum has unique experience in cases involving allegations of misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition. Earlier this year, she successfully defeated an application for a temporary restraining order brought against 10 defendants under a 19 count complaint alleging misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition. Also in that case, she has won several critical discovery motions, thereby putting a stop to plaintiff’s efforts to gain access to defendants’ sensitive business information. She also has counseled clients on a variety of issues involving corporate raiding, including how to lawfully compete with a former employer. Ms. Glarum also has extensive experience in employment matters. She has obtained summary judgment numerous times on behalf of institutional clients in cases alleging unlawful discrimination. Recently, she obtained dismissal of an Unruh Act claim brought against a major university after filing a motion for summary judgment. She also advises clients on a wide range of employment matters. Prior to joining Doll Amir & Eley, LLP, Ms. Glarum practiced law at the Los Angeles offices of Latham & Watkins, LLP and at Blanc Williams Johnston & Kronstadt (later acquired by Arnold & Porter LLP). She is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Vassar College, where she was elected Phi Beta Kappa.
