David M. Moss
Moss & Colella
Senior Partner and Principal Shareholder and co-founder of Moss & Colella, P.C., David Moss specializes in personal injury trial practice. He has successfully represented victims of personal injury for more than a quarter century and is highly respected by both plaintiff and defense litigators and regarded as a skilled and tenacious advocate for the firm’s clients.
David Moss has litigated several hundred cases on behalf of injured railroad workers around the country. He has represented thousands of injured victims and their families against insurance companies, national corporations, hospitals, municipalities and individual defendants. David Moss has fought for the rights of injured persons throughout his entire legal career. His skills, both in and out of the courtroom, have resulted in numerous multi-million dollar recoveries for his client and their families. A Detroit jury returned a 15 million dollar verdict for one such family in a case involving a drunk driver and a local Detroit Casino. This past year, those skills produced millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements against hospitals, insurance companies, negligent drivers, bars and drunk drivers. In addition to his many honors, David is named among the top 1% of auto accident lawyers.
Known for his trial and negotiation skills, David has argued before the Michigan Supreme Court and several Michigan Court of Appeals panels. A recent success out of the Michigan Supreme Court resulted in a recovery of hundreds of thousands of dollars to a Detroit family in a medical malpractice case. David is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Detroit Bar Association and Oakland County Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in all Michigan State and Federal Courts. He is also certified as a Case Evaluator/Mediator, and is often selected by other plaintiff attorneys to sit as a designated arbitrator on their client’s behalf to resolve complicated cases.
David enjoys a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, boating and camping and has been Assistant Scout Master with a local Boy Scout Troop for many years. He has actively participated and assisted many young men along their path to the rank of “Eagle Scout.” David also believes regular exercise is an important component to maintaining his competitive edge – consequently, he is a cyclist and passionate about downhill skiing. He also practices yoga to strike a balance between the rigors of a demanding law practice and life’s everyday challenges.
