Criminal defense attorney Carla Litrenta is a career litigator who is passionate about being in the courtroom. In law school, Carla was invited to join Barry University’s award winning Trial Advocacy Team where she honed her trial skills and won three National Championships for her school. After graduating from law school, attorney Carla Litrenta joined the Monroe County State Attorney’s office where she prosecuted misdemeanors through first-degree felonies. She has been the lead attorney in over 50 jury trials. Carla currently defends clients in North Carolina who have been charged with traffic, DWI, theft, drug, or assault crimes. Carla Litrenta understands how to successfully defend her clients because she knows exactly what it takes to prosecute charges.
Her experience as a prosecutor gives her a unique insight to how the other side works. She knows what the district attorneys need to prove their cases and more importantly, how to identify defenses in her clients’ cases to negotiate the best outcomes for them.
In addition to her experience in the courtroom, Carla has received law enforcement level training in DWI detection and investigation. She completed the same 40-hour course given to police officers on how to properly conduct field sobriety tests during a DWI stop. Carla has also participated as an instructor for newly certified law enforcement officers in the field of trial advocacy.
Defense attorney Carla Litrenta enjoys giving back to her community and has volunteered as the Attorney Coach for high school level mock trial teams since graduating from law school. Currently, she is the Attorney Coach for the mock trial team at Ardrey Kell High School. Carla enjoys traveling and speaks Spanish and French.
