Mr. Caggiano attended Suffolk University Law School in Boston, served as a writer and editor of its Law Journal, and graduated in 1984. He became a member of The Florida Bar in 1984 and The Massachusetts Bar in 1985. Mr. Caggiano has practiced exclusively in civil trial law. After graduation, he began working for an insurance defense law firm in Miami, Florida. In 1987, he decided to use the insight he had gained as an insurance defense lawyer to benefit victims of personal injury and medical malpractice by founding Ward & Caggiano with Dr. Walter Ward, a medical doctor and lawyer. In 1992, Mr. Caggiano became Board Certified in Civil Trial Law, distinguishing himself as one of less than 2% of The Florida Bar specializing in civil trial law, which includes personal injury and medical malpractice. In 1999, he was chosen to serve on The Florida Bar Civil Trial Law Certification Committee. This committee is entrusted with evaluating and testing other lawyers who wish to hold themselves out as specialists in Civil Trial Law. From 2002 through 2004, Mr. Caggiano was honored to serve as Chair of this Florida Bar Committee. Mr. Caggiano spends a considerable amount of time offering free legal services to those less fortunate. He has been recognized by the Eleventh Judicial Circuit and the Dade County Bar Association, receiving the pro bono award for providing free legal work to those in need in the area of general civil law. On behalf of the Orange County Bar Association, he serves as a guardian ad litem for abused, abandoned, and neglected children. He is also actively involved in his community through his church and has served on the school board. Mr. Caggiano considers it a privilege to represent the interests of those who have been injured. All too frequently in our civil justice system, careless companies and individuals try to avoid responsibility for the harm that they cause. Insurance companies, medical associations, and business interests have lobbied our state legislators to strip away people's rights and to create more challenges for those simply seeking to be treated fairly. Sadly, injured people have also been targeted by outrageous lawyer advertising. Lawyers who are not specialists in personal injury or medical malpractice can advertise for those very cases. How can innocent folks protect themselves? We have tried to do our part by providing a free book to accident and malpractice victims revealing the secrets of the insurance companies and lawyer advertisers. While we can not represent everyone who seeks our help, if we can not accept your case, we will do our best to direct you to another lawyer who may be able to assist you. Ward & Caggiano, P. A. is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, an honor limited to only the most distinguished law practices: those that have achieved an AV rating from the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. 'The 'A' signifies the highest level of legal ability, while the 'V' denotes 'very high' adherence to professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability, and diligence.' We invite you to use our website to learn more about our law firm, your legal rights, and what we may be able to do for you.
