Denise Top

Denise K. Top recently joined the firm as an associate, having worked here as a law clerk during law school. Ms. Top was born on August 10, 1971 in Cleveland, Ohio. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in Ohio. Shortly after graduation, Ms. Top moved to California and managed the financial plans for a $72 million business for a national retailer. She went on to law school at Golden Gate University School of Law, graduating in 2005. While in law school, Ms. Top served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Maria-Elena James in the United States District Court, Northern District of California and was a legal intern in the Marin County District Attorney's Office. Ms. Top also served as senior associate editor on the Golden Gate Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court Board. Lastly, she earned several academic honors, including Witkin Awards for Academic Excellence and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award. Following her graduation from law school, Ms. Top joined the Resolution Law Group, where she litigated matters in the environmental risks and insurance coverage practice areas. Realizing she missed oral advocacy and trial work, Ms. Top came back to Pave & Bogaards. Ms. Top is an intense athlete, competing in triathlons and participating in a soccer league. She has been involved in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training where she fund-raised over $20,000 for related cancers research. She has successfully completed two Ironman triathlons.
