Don started practicing divorce and family law in Rhode Island over 20 years ago, and has become a formidable force for his client both in and out of the courtroom. Don will apply every available resource to your case to ensure the best possible outcomes. Not only a divorce lawyer, Don is experienced with all types of cases including adoptions, restraining orders, DCYF cases, interstate issues, military issues, and everything in between. He provides his clients with the information they need to make the best decisions about how to proceed with their divorce, settlement, or custody case.
EDUCATION & COURT ADMISSIONS
Don graduated from the first class of Roger Williams School of Law in Bristol RI, in 1996, and soon thereafter founded what is now Moyer Law, PC. Providing representation exclusively on issues surrounding divorce, child custody, and all family law matters, Don has aggressively represented clients both in and out of court, through trials and settlements alike.
Don’s undergraduate degree in finance is a critical benefit to clients litigating any issues relating to real estate, retirement division, hidden assets, support, or any variety of other financial issues. Don was admitted into the Rhode Island Bar in 1996, the U.S. District Court District of Rhode Island in 1998, and the Mohegan Gaming Disputes Court in 1998.
LEADERSHIP, MEMBERSHIP & HONORS
Don served in the US Army, Infantry, in various duties, to include serving as a company commander for a drill instructor unit, and spending a year in the Bosnia, Croatia, Hungary region of Europe serving in a special operations unit in the immediate aftermath of the Bosnian conflict in 1996-97.
Don is a past member of the Town of Foster, RI, Planning Board, and also was an active member and volunteer for Borders Farm Preservation, a local non-profit farm.
Don also is a member of the R.I. Family Court Inns of Court, which is members only organization focused on the spreading of family law knowledge on to younger practitioners of family law. Don has served on the RI Bar Associations Technology in the Practice Committee, and is a member of the RI Bar Family Law Bench/Bar Committee as well as the America Bar Association Section of Family Law.
