Jill serves as the COO for Outside GC LLC and its sister organization Patent GC LLC, and also as an attorney on our team.
Jill’s practice focuses upon healthcare, life sciences, business law, and litigation oversight gained during 20 years of practice. She brings a unique combination of legal, operational, and strategic experience. For a decade, she served as General Counsel and Compliance Officer for a health services company. In addition, Jill has over ten years of experience in litigation and litigation oversight across the US for the nation’s largest banks and manufacturers of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and industrial products. She delivers an operationally astute approach and is a proven solver of complex problems. Jill is known for her business-focus, pragmatism, and ability to harmonize business operations with legal requirements to efficiently realize corporate goals.
Jill joined Outside GC in 2014 and worked extensively with Genzyme Corporation doing promotional and medical review for multiple drugs, as well as drafting and negotiating supply, joint venture and quality agreements.
For a decade before joining Outside GC, Jill was General Counsel and Compliance Officer to a healthcare services company that served diverse healthcare providers and institutions. Jill has also represented numerous pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. She has advised clients in healthcare contracting, audit and compliance, and the interface of technology and healthcare. She possesses broad knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid, fraud and abuse defense, the False Claims Act, HIPAA, the Sunshine Act, electronic health records, coding, and healthcare reimbursement. Throughout her career, she reviewed and negotiated a broad range of contracts for day-to-day business operations including vendor/supplier agreements, software licenses, and leases. She is passionate about healthcare, innovation and partnering with clients to attain their objectives.
Most recently, Jill was the Vice President of Contested Litigation for a national commercial law firm with offices in 28 states, overseeing over 100 attorneys and 26,000 litigation cases for the nation’s largest banks and financial services companies. For the entirety of her over 20 years of practice, Jill has managed and trained staff to comply with federal and state regulations. She skillfully created a program to manage thousands of lawsuits filed to collect upon $250 million dollars of debt owed to the nation’s largest banks. Jill simultaneously maximized efficiencies and minimized risks and costs, which led to industry-leading performance in commercial litigation.
Jill is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of Michigan.
She graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Boston College Law School.
Additionally, Jill founded KidzKIND, a community of parents and kids who perform short and sweet, service projects to engage kid’s compassion and offset the screen time that typifies modern childhood. Jill also founded CaregiverKIND, a community designed to support, energize, and inform caregivers of loved ones undergoing medical challenges. She also serves on a number of boards for healthcare related organizations.
Jill was raised in Lexington, Massachusetts. She could not get enough American revolutionary history so she and her family now reside in the equally historic town of Concord, Massachusetts, spending time outside and cheering on her children when they play field hockey and basketball.
