Kim Kimbrough

W.H. “Kim” Kimbrough, Jr., J.D., LL.M.,  Attorney

Kim has been practicing law in Athens, GA, for over forty years. Raised in Pine Mountain, GA, he graduated from Auburn University with a degree (B.S.) in Economics; earned his law degree (J.D.) at the University of Georgia School of Law in 1973; and received a Master of Laws in Taxation degree (LL.M.) from New York University School of Law in 1976. He then began practicing law in Athens, specializing in income tax; international tax; estate and gift tax; and estate planning. For twenty years, he taught as an adjunct professor at the UGA School of Law. Kim has also worked in most all areas of taxation, business and real estate law throughout his career.

For the last several years, Kim has primarily focused on asset protection, estate planning, and elder law. Anticipating a demand for something beyond traditional elder law offerings, he transformed the firm by radically widening its reach – combining legal specialties with care coordination and advocacy for older adults and their families. His approach to each client’s situation is marked by an understanding of the natural progression of aging and its impact on everyone involved.

Along with his legal expertise, Kim possesses a sincere heart and desire to help struggling families. His personal experience coupled with his knowledge of the law uniquely qualify Kim to head up the diverse team he has assembled – the first of its kind in Northeast Georgia.
