About James Bates
James Bates is a Louisiana criminal DWI defense attorney specializing in first offense DWI to multiple offense cases in which the DWI consequences are far more severe. He defends clients throughout the state, including the Baton Rouge and Lake Charles areas.
Bates has extensive experience in gas chromatography and drug recognition training, and he now trains other lawyers who have decided to continue their legal education in these fields.
James Bates is the Louisiana State Delegate to the National College of DUI Defense (NCDD). He has defended criminal cases in the courtroom since 1969. In 2003, Bates decided to focus his career on fighting for people who cannot afford to pay the high price of a DWI conviction.
