Jack is a well-regarded health care trial attorney with comprehensive experience representing both health care payors and medical providers. With over thirty-years of litigation practice, Jack has completed more than twenty trials and binding arbitrations. He has also handled numerous state court appeals, and regulatory ALJ hearings before the California Office of Administrative Hearings.

Jack has litigated actions in most California counties, including San Francisco, Alameda, Fresno, Kern, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego. He has also handled federal court actions in the Central District of California. Finally, when appropriate for his client, Jack has pursued trial court matters in the California Court of Appeal to preserve jury verdicts and for correct summary judgment rulings, including one Palma notice issued by the California Supreme Court, directing the Court of Appeal to grant his motion for summary judgment.

Jack is widely-regarded for handling health care contract disputes, ranging from comprehensive, complex written agreements, to Letters of Agreement, and to implied contract disputes focused on authorization and medical necessity. Much of his litigation involves managed care business disputes, and contracted and non-contracted provider payment disputes. Jack is also well-versed in disputes involving Knox-Keene statutes and regulations, California Pharmacy law, commercial capitation and fee-for-service products, and Medicare Advantage issues involving CMS.

Of course, since most lawsuits settle without a trial verdict or a summary judgment, Jack is also well-regarded by many state court and private neutrals as an efficient advocate on behalf of his clients in mediations and settlement conferences.

Prior to Kennaday Leavitt, Jack was a health care litigation partner in the Los Angeles office of an AMLAW100 firm and a litigation partner in the Los Angeles office of a national AMLAW200 firm.
