Ashly McGarity

Ashly McGarity is a dedicated immigration and criminal defense lawyer at Skinner Law Firm in West Chester, Pennsylvania. She began practicing law because of her desire to help people, especially those facing issues with immigration and deportation. Before becoming an attorney, Ashly earned her bachelor's degree from Villanova University where she double majored in Russian Concentration and History. Since her time in college as an undergraduate student, Ashly has been involved in multiple human rights and immigration organizations, advocating for the rights of all people, regardless of status. Here she developed a passion for assisting those in need. Now, as an attorney, she is a strong supporter of immigration reform.

Ashly began her career at Skinner Law Firm in 2012 as a law clerk prior to earning her juris doctor. She also concurrently worked at the Law Offices of Jamie W. Goncharoff, where she handled a broad range of civil matters, including personal injury and complex litigation.

Additionally, she worked as a law clerk at the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of Delaware, focusing primarily on constitutional and federal cases with underlying immigration issues and conflicts. She also served as a paralegal at a personal injury and immigration firm in Philadelphia, handling cases in state, federal, immigration and appellate courts. 

Ashly became an associate attorney at Skinner Law Firm after earning her juris doctor from Widener University School of Law in 2014. As an attorney at Skinner Law Firm, she handles a plethora of immigration cases, including family-based immigration.
