Louis U. Gasparini is a Member (Partner) in the Firm, working primarily from the White Plains and Hudson Valley office locations. Lou joined Lynch Schwab in 2008 as a Partner after practicing for a prestigious Albany based civil litigation firm. Since that time, he has developed his practice to include several insurers as well as privately owned businesses and individuals.
Lou primarily practices in the areas of civil litigation (from inception, to trial and appeal), commercial litigation and all aspects of employment law. He focuses a large part of his practice on the defense of municipalities and private schools, clubs and other businesses in sports related injury litigation. These institutions have ranged from colleges, private religious schools, after school programs, local, regional and nationally recognized sports clubs and community groups and organizations.
Since joining the Firm, Lou has tried both personal injury claims and commercial litigation matters to verdict. He has gained a reputation as being a well prepared advocate at trial and beforehand.
Lou also serves as counsel to a national retail supply distributor, overseeing all employment litigation nationwide and handling employment counseling matters for the Company. He actively handles various types of employment matters for other Firm clients, defending against claims of tortuous interference, contracts, discrimination and unfair competition. Lou handles actions to enforce and defend against claims relating to non-competition and solicitation agreements. He counsels clients on employment issues dealing with contracts, discipline, promotions, terminations and workplace law issues, and has defended against employment discrimination suits before the New York State Division of Human Rights (DHR) and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Lou advises employers on the drafting and negotiating of non-compete agreements, and on the preparation of specific employment policies, handbooks and manuals.
Lou is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut State Courts, and the United States District Courts of the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York and Northern District of New York.
