Attorney Charles A. McKinney currently serves as the Principal with The Law Offices of Charles A. McKinney, a full-service law practice with offices in Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus and Toledo. An attorney with over 30 years of experience, Charles McKinney has a vast and diverse career in the law. He worked for 10 years, first as in-house counsel for The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, then as an associate and senior associate with Quarles & Brady Law Firm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Smith & Schnacke LPA Law Firm in Dayton, Ohio. McKinney’s legal success then led him to becoming a Partner with Chernesky, Heyman & Kress Law Firm, also in Dayton. In 1990, Charles A. McKinney branched out launching his own firm in Dayton offering Corporate Law services primarily to for-profit small and medium-sized corporations in the Dayton, Ohio area. The Corporate Law practice quickly expanded to include representation of a variety of nonprofit corporations including churches and community development corporations. In 1994, as additional employees and expertise was acquired, the firm expanded its practice to include Criminal Law with a concentration on drug crimes and state and federal felonies. In 1998, the firm added representation of employees in employment discrimination and other civil rights cases. 2001 ushered in a further expansion of the firm’s services to the area of Personal Injury/Medical Malpractice. Charles A. McKinney is a 1977 graduate of Wilberforce University (Magna Cum Laude) and a 1980 graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School and continued his preparation at Harvard Law School. He is currently a member of the Rules Committee, U.S. District Court-Southern District of Ohio, the Ohio State Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and the Ohio Employment Lawyers Association and a former member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel.
