Practice Areas
Alan F. Scott, Jr., Esq. is a Supreme Court certified circuit civil mediator and arbitrator, with extensive experience in facilitating alternative dispute resolution in many civil and commercial matters. From construction contracts to products liability, and from probate litigation to foreclosure mediation—Scott has worked with clients since 1996 in resolving their claims through mediation and arbitration. As a result, his client base contains thousands of satisfied people who are happy with their decision to mediate or arbitrate rather than taking a case to court.
In seeing the better-than-average success of mediation and arbitration for so many individuals and companies, Scott realized that during the alternative resolution process, clients and counsel were much more likely to communicate information that is important to the claim—information that might not have been considered in a litigated structure. Since then, he has devoted his practice to alternative resolution methods to resolve a wide spectrum of civil and commercial matters.
As a selected member of “Who’s Who Among American Trial Lawyers, Scott has served as the lead trial counsel for the Orange County School Board and West Palm Beach Housing Authority. He has been invited as a keynote speaker for conventions and workshops throughout the country and is an active member of the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators. In 1978, Scott was involved in American Arbitration Association® (AAA) construction arbitrations where most of the meetings were conducted by three judge panels.
