John Barnes

I founded the Barnes Law Office on the belief that every person I represent should get a high quality, personalized, and aggressive representation, that they should be able to speak with me directly about their case to get the information and advice they need in a timely manner, and that that they should be able to afford excellent representation without mortgaging their future.  

I am absolutely committed to going above and beyond to assure the best possible outcome for every person I represent.  I take on a comparitively smaller number of cases to make sure that I can personally serve and know each client, which I have found  leads to better results, more peace of mind for my clients, and a more enjoyable practice.  I have developed a focus on DUI defense, having worked for some of the top DUI lawyers in the country before starting my own firm, and have been trained extensively in that field.  I am passionate about defending and representing people in criminal and civil courts and helping make the system work for, rather than against, them.

I am a two time graduate of the University of Tennessee, earning both a bachelor's degree and my law degree with honors from UT.  I married a beautiful native Knoxvillian, my wife Taylor, and live in the Cedar Bluff area with her and my two dogs.  In my spare time you'll find me running the greenways of Knox and Blount counties and competing in endurance events across the country.
