Jessica Christensen joined Minami Tamaki LLP as an Associate in 2005. Ms. Christensen received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hampshire College in Massachusetts. In obtaining her BA, she wrote her undergraduate thesis on free speech and hate crimes while doing field study in Montgomery, Alabama at the Southern Poverty Law Center. After spending several years working for labor unions in the Southeast and Pacific Northwest, Ms. Christensen attended Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. as a Public Interest Law Scholar. Prior to joining Minami Tamaki LLP, Ms. Christensen worked as an Associate with a prominent bay area firm focusing on representing unions in collective bargaining and wage/hour issues. Ms. Christensen's current practice focuses on representing employees in class action lawsuits in both state and federal courts to recover unpaid wages and benefits, including unpaid overtime owed as a result of misclassification. In addition, she represents individual employees and classes of employees in employment, civil rights and consumer litigation. She also has experience handling complex multi-party civil litigation. Ms. Christensen is admitted to practice in California, as well as before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Central and Southern districts of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the California Employment Lawyers Association, the National Employment Lawyers Association, the Consumer Attorneys of California, and is on the Ethics Committee of the Bar Association of San Francisco.
