Patrick B. Dillon enjoys finding solutions to legal issues and catching problems for clients. Pat practices in the Sumner office regularly represents clients in district, associate district and magistrate courts for agricultural, real estate, criminal and collection issues.He drafts wills and trusts, creates estate plans and helps clients through the probate process. He also is a federal designated debt relief attorney and protects consumer's assets by filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy relief.
Publications : Pat has published The Beginning Farmer's Loan Tool Box in Drake Journal of Agricultural Law and monthly publishes "A Look at Agricultural Law" which is posted as a blog on this website and appears in the Sumner Gazette. Pat is also the author of Field Manual: Iowa Farmer's Guide to Legal Issues.
Pat was born in Oelwein, Iowa and grew up as part of a diversified family farm operation and graduated from Sumner Community Schools. He resides near Sumner in a refurbished 1880's farm house and actively farms with his family.
Pat is volunteer general counsel of the Sunset Community Theatre Board of Directors (a non profit movie theatre that shows recently released movies for 99 cents and adds value to the downtown buisness community of Sumner),Farm Bureau, American Legion Post Number 317 (Volga City, Iowa). Pat serves on the NE AHEC Advisory Board to attract and maintain quality health care professionals in rural Iowa and advises numerous local community non profit organizations.

MILITARY SERVICE Commissioned as an Army Officer:
Platoon leader in 513th Transportation Company and 40th Transportation Company.
Commander- 22d Transportation Detachment (Trailer Transfer).
Commander 513th Transportation Company as a first lieutenant.
1999 Fort Lewis Transportation Officer of the year.
Protocol officer at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Coordinated out of country general officer level visits to post and supervised the visits of three and four star generals to the post, including the Chief of Staff of the Army.
Transportation Team Officer in Charge for the 1/383d Training Support Battalion, Ft. Des Moines, Iowa.
Awards Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC) and the Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC).
Completed Service at the Rank of Captain.
