Mr. Miltenberger is a 1982 graduate from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. He was a member of the Law Review.
He has a general law practice with an emphasis on employment law, litigation, business organizations, contract drafting, and small estate planning/family documents. He also handles select family law and divorce matters.
Mr. Miltenberger’s law practice in the labor and employment area has involved counseling employers on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship including handling matters in federal and state court, arbitration and administrative forums. He and his firm represented clients ranging from companies with only a few employees to Texas Utilities, a then public utility with over 10,000 employees. The companies he has advised employ both union and non-union workers.
He has been active in the legal area of business formation and regulation. He has served as General Counsel for three start-up companies, including a publically traded company. From start-up funding to liquidity events, Mr. Miltenberger has negotiated and drafted a wide range of agreements and guided companies through their growth stages. His experience drafting contracts applies to national and international contracts, having completed exclusive distribution agreements for China, India and Sri Lanka.
Mr. Miltenberger has handled various litigation matters in federal and state court and before numerous federal and state administrative agencies. His responsibilities have included all aspects of the litigation both from a plaintiff’s and a defendant’s perspective. He has handled injunction hearings, all phases of discovery, dispositive motions, settlement negotiations, trials and appeals. Mr. Miltenberger has extensive arbitration experience having represented parties in over fifty labor arbitration hearings.
