Background:
John MacDonald Jr. is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and attended The Ohio State University. He graduated from Ohio State in 2000, with a degree in criminology. In addition, Mr. MacDonald was a member of the men's division 1 varsity wrestling team while at Ohio State. After receiving his degree from Ohio State, Mr. MacDonald received orders to Naval Officers Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida. Mr. MacDonald was commissioned as a Naval Officer in 2002. While Mr. MacDonald was in the Navy, he was stationed in NAS Pensacola and spent time aboard the USS WASP before being discharged in 2006. He received an honorable discharge to attended Cooley Law School and graduated in 2010. He passed the Michigan bar in the same year and immediately started taking court appointed cases in Ingham County.
